Salix bhutanensis Flod., Bot. Not. 1940(Hafte 2): 227, f. 1 1940. (syn: Salix filistyla C. Wang & P.Y. Fu; Salix himalayensis var. filistyla (C. Wang & P.Y. Fu) C.F. Fang);

Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal as per Catalogue of Life;


Shrub 1.5-3m; branchlets villous, becoming glabrous. Leaves elliptic, 3-5 x 1.5-2cm, acute, base rounded or truncate, margins entire, green and, apart from white pubescent midrib, glabrous above, ± glabrous beneath expert for white woolly veins; petioles 3mm; stipules lanceolate 2mm, glandular serrulate. Catkins precocious. Male catkins 4-5cm on peduncles 5mm, bracts obovate, 2.5mm, obtuse or retuse, white villous; stamens 2, filaments connate from middle to base, pubescent. Female catkins 5-7 x 2cm, on peduncles 1cm, scales 2mm brown, long whitish villous. Capsule narrowly ovoid, attenuate, 6mm, glabrous, borne on pedicel 1mm; styles 2mm, shortly 4-fid at apex
