Spiraea species in eFloraofindia (with details/ keys from published papers/ regional floras/ FRLHT/ FOI/ Biotik/ efloras/ books etc., where ever available on net)
Looking like Spiraea canescence
Spiraea nipponica
Was it wild or cultivated?
If wild, it can not be S. nipponica.
It is a non native
In case it is a native then it is surely Spiraea canescens

VoF Week: 18092012 BS 10 Rosaceae Shrub for id from Valley:
Pls id this Rosaceae Shrub
Shot from main valley
Only these two pics are availble
I hope Spiraea bella
You were lucky to get some unseasonal flowers
No ... I got it wrong, I hope it should be S. canescens, if leaves are smaller than 2 cm. S. bella has pink flowers and sharply cut leaves.
Very nice find ... ... the flowers seem like faded pink rather than white for this to qualify for S. canescens...as well as the leaf texture....I may be wrong...
I think it should be Spiraea canescens D. Don as stated by …

Spiraea canescens D.Don
Many thanks to ... for the ID in my earlier post.
Dear friends, the flowers on this plant have lost their glory.
at Valley of Flowers on August 2, 2012
I think, It is not Spiraea canescens- from … in another thread.
To me also looks different from images at Spiraea canescens
On further scrutiny I feel it is closer to Spiraea canescens D. Don only as suggested by ...

 AUG 12
Valley of Flowers ... about 11000 - 12000 ft
Habitat: sloping meadow
Habit: small shrub, about 50 - 70 cm high, tiny flower: about 3 - 5 mm across
Any idea about leaf size?. If less than 2 cm may be Spiraea canescens.
...  it would be less than or just about 2 cm long leaf.
Then should be Spiraea canescens

I think, It is not Spiraea canescens
On further scrutiny I feel it is closer to Spiraea canescens D. Don only as suggested by …
