BUT BANKSIA conjures up the australian candle like yellow or red flowers, ... I think has shown them once here, and they are favorites with flower arranging ladies for Ikebana or large arrangements. I saw this rose plant with full blooms at a few places at srinagar and was feeling bad I could not capture it as I was in the jeep. Would this come in hotter climes like south I trust you more than I trust Dave's garden which is now a commercial venture... a co on one of the stock exchanges i think owns it... it may not now be a labor of love for the gardeners or the botanists that came to dave's garden... Banksia is the problem... i understand someone wanted to oblige Lady Banks and so many things are given the species name Banksia ... that's ok... I was only getting to the point that me not being a botanist only a gardener and sometimes flower arranger on the side has only one type of flower in my head that's named Banksia...that's all... I googled banksia and ran into several plants named after Lady Banks ... she must have been influential or rich or both to have impressed the naming authorities to have varied stuff named after her.... that's interesting...
