There are also many wild relatives of these fruit species in the State. In this and the following mails, I'll be uploading some of these wild fruit tree species. It is Prunus armeniaca, the wild apricot, locally known as 'Chulli'. This species is now widely cultivated for its fruit that happens to be amongst the first to appear in May during peak tourist season in the State, getting local people good income.
