Perennial herb. Leaves 3 x 5 cm, subcoriaceous, hirsute, especially below; stipules sheathing; rachis to 7 cm long; mid-leaflets obovate, 3.5 x 2.5 cm, base cuneate, margin deeply serrate; laterals oblique, 2.5 x 2 cm. Cymes erect, to 5 cm long; peduncles golden villous. Petals elliptic, 5 mm, yellow. Stamens numerous. Pistils numerous, on a convex receptacle; ovule 1. Achenes numerous, on fleshy torus.

Fragaria daltoniana J.Gray  photographed in Sunderdhunga valley (2700m), Uttarakhand.
Spreading hairs on petiole, appressed calyx in fruit are creating doubt.
With spreading hairs on petiole, appressed calyx, bifid epicalyx seem to be suggesting F. nilgerrensis

I also checked FoC and the keys smoothly reach to F.nigerrensis Schltdl. ex J.Gay.

This species is not reported from Uttarakhand though known in adjacent Nepal.
