Fragaria OR Duchesnea : California : 20SEP15 : AK-9 : 09/49 : 4 posts by 2 authors. Attachments (2)
Seen this tiny plant growing in the backyard of a home garden in Sacramento during Oct,14.
Would this be Fragaria or Duchesnea?
Did you happen to notice the color of the flower?
If the flower was yellow it is most likely a Duchesnea indica/ Potentilla indica with a common name of 'mock strawberry; or 'false strawberry'.
As far as I can remember, there were no flowers when the picture was taken.
Or else I would have taken a picture of the flower too.
Thanks for the suggested id.
