Id plz: can anyone help me id this plant
its a tree, photographed at Amboli MH about 15days back (Posted on 16.2.12)
The flower looks like plant belongs to the family Celastraceae. It would be of great help if you can provide additional information such as place where you see this species, time of flowering, any information on fruits, height of the plant etc...
Preferably please upload (in this thread itself) a habit picture of the tree, if you have one.
please look up the recent thread about Rhamnus wightii. I think this is the same plant although it would be helpful to know details of size of plant and habitat. The habitat of the Rhamnus sp. is very specific.

Celastraceae member?  Ventilago sp?
Ventilago species so far in efi.  
It could possibly be a Ventilago sp. although Ventilago spp. are not trees.
The pics. are insufficient for a positive id.

Gouania sp. have long spicate panicles and tendrils whereas the plant that ... and I have photographed have neither of these. So perhaps Gouania sp. may be ruled out.

From my flickr collection, I find that I have seen it at Matheran, other than Agumbe Ghat.
