Flora of China says that R. sceleratus flowers in Jan-July but has small flowers. I am more inclined to think that my sample is R. distans (R. laetus previously but see http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=242000634) A few observations; Flower 2cm across, sepals hairy (villous), on a long stalk with adpressed white hair. The basal leaves large—slightly wider than long, on hairy stalks (11cmx9cm). Upper leaves without pedicels, in three, and about 4cm. The main stem hollow, hairier at nodes. Apart from lanceolate, narrow the flowering time, the features point to R. distans. Please advise. I am including a screenshot from the Flora of British India by J. D. Hooker.
