Maesa chisia Buch.-Ham. ex D. Don, Prodr. Fl. Nepal. 148 1825. (syn: Maesa dioica A. DC.; Maesa prodigiosa C. Chen); 1200-2600 m; Himalaya (Nepal to Bhutan), Assam, N. Burma as per Check list of Nepal; SE-Tibet, China (W-Yunnan), Bhutan, India, Myanmar [Burma], Nepal, Darjeeling,
Sikkim as per Catalogue of Life; Sharing some pictures I guess is Maesa chisia Buchanan-Hamilton ex D. Don. shot at Chautara Nepal on 19 January 2014 at 4300 ft. Maesa chisia Buch.-Ham. ex D. Don (accepted name) ?? : 4 posts by 2 authors. Attachments (3) Location: Kakani , Nepal Altitude: 6000ft. Date: 17 January 2015 Maesa chisia Buch.-Ham. ex D. Don (accepted name) ?? Nepali Names: बिलौनी Bilauni / कनिगे Kanige / थिन्के Thinke I think close to your earlier posting on this species: Maesa chisia Buchanan-Hamilton ex D. Don. Thank you ! Once again by mistakenly two images of diiferent plant posted by me ! Maesa chisia Buch.-Ham. ex D. Don (accepted name) ??? : 3 posts by 2 authors. Attachments (12) Location: Nagarkot, Nepal Date : 31 January 2017Altitude : 7000 ft. Maesa species (M. indica)?- a guess. I think matches your other posts of the same species as below: Nepali Names : बिलौनी Bilaunee / कनिगे Kanige / थिङ्के Thinke Maesa species (M. indica) ?- a guess Could it be Maesa indica (Roxb.) A. DC. ?? But it is not listed in Nepal I guess. No idea if there is any new development. Sorting them based on the keys I provided from Flora of China will be the best way. In the basis of picture shot in Nepal I guess it is Maesa montana A. DC. and Syn : Maesa indica Wall. ex C. B. Clarke. and looks like description is also matching. Request for further opinion. Attachments (2) I think there are some taxonomic issues in Flora of Nepal. As per Catalogue of life, Baeobotrys indica Roxb. and Maesa elongata (A. DC.) Mez, both are syn. of Maesa indica (Roxb.) A. DC. Flora of China neither give any such name nor any distribution for Maesa montana A. de Candolle in Nepal. Also I could not find any such name as Maesa indica Wall. ex C B Clarke in The Plant List Ver. 1.1. In Catalogue of Life, it is a syn. of Maesa latifolia (BI.) DC., where there is no distribution in Nepal, while Maesa indica (Roxb.) A. DC. has distribution in Nepal. I don't know how I am going to solve this puzzle. If you use the key in Flora of China for id, as I have given you.
