Chenopodium? : 11 posts by 5 authors. Attachments (1).
I got this from a nursery where I was told it is some kind of a Saag. They were not clear about the name. Is it Bathua?
Looks like Buckwheat, Fagopyrum esculentum.
Thank you. Are the leaves edible?
This photograph resembles to Rumex hastatus- an acidic tasting weed, indicator of heavy grazing. The leaves can be made into chutney. On the left side the pot shows Oxalis again a sour tasting herb.
Based on the names you gave I did some searches on Google. I feel the closest it comes to is like Chukka Koora, one form of Rumex (vesicarius)?
My conclusion was based on habit (somewhat spreading) and distinctly sagittate leaves. Rumex hastatus has similar leaves but plant is almost shrubby with much narrower leaves. To me it does not look like R. vesicarius whose leaves almost truncate at base:
I am sending my photographs for comparison
Thank you, ... I tasted a leaf, it's very sour. Will wait for it to flower and then send you further pictures for confirmation.
here in Sabzi Mandi it is sold as Nari Ka Sag.
I think this should be Rumex hastatus ..
There should be no confusion in the identity of Rumex hastatus and Oxalis. The former of course is shrubby after many years, initially  or under shade, it can bear weak branches -half ascending type or haphazard.

nice
so they flower every six months?
Thank you ... They have been flowering for more than a month now and I did post others in November. Unless I am confusing two separate species, these flower in autumn and again in spring.
We are having a good spring. After a good rhododendron flowering we are now enjoying musk roses, buttercups, St John's worts and sorrel etc. Here are some photographs of how the Rumex hastatus is looking at present.
