Thanks for this post. I think you need to recheck the ID for this plant. The Plant List mentions Persicaria decipiens (R.Br.) K.L. Wilson as the accepted name for Polygonum serrulatum Lag. Moreover, your photos do not match with the images available on net: Missed your feedback yesterday, didn't receive email. Yes, I have seen the accepted name in The Plant List. But, I have deliberately used the name/entry in FBI or Bengal Plants or in Botany of Bihar and Orissa for reason I will explain eventually. There is ample provision to get confused by the descriptions in the above links. However, attached here some more photographs, that I think of the same plant species, recorded elsewhere in some other time. The ID is wrong.
