Persicaria lapathifolia (L.) Delarbre is a common semi aquatic herb in Pantnagar. Unlike Persicaria glabra, it is a taller herb reaching up to 4 feets.

Do you have some more images of this plant? The stem and leaf appears lanose to me. In that case this should be P. lapathifolium var. lanatum (as per Flora of China)
The synonymy in Polygonum seems confusing to me, led to this conclusion on identity.
Leaves are lanate as suspected by you. Attaching a picture of vegetative stage for your observation.
Yes! This is definitely not P. lapathifolia var. lapathifolia. This should be Persicaria lanata but still have to find how it differs from Polygonum lanigerum. Will check soon and let you know. Thanks again for sharing your valuable collection Sir!
