That's all I remember.... haven't got into the habit of keeping field notes as yet...

Aconogonum campanulatum??
Are there any other Indian varieties of Aconogonum ...??
Aconogonon campanulatum (Hook. f.) H. Hara (=Persicaria campanulata (Hook. f.) Ronse Decre.) is supposed to have a branched panicled inflorescence.
This is Persicaria chinensis (L.) H. Gross which is characterized by terminal or axillary capitate inflorescence.

Flower in heads. No involucral leaf at base. Petioles not winged. (All this goes in favour of P. Nepalensis)
Stems unarmed nut trigonous...(Hopefully) This is Persicaria auriculata S.K.Dixit, Datta and Roy.
One synonym is Pesicaria chinensis.
Many thanks ... for clarifying the differences among P. chinensis and P. nepalensis.
Another species close to P. chinensis is P. dichotoma (which has grooved stem, and minute prickles, the inflorescence as the name suggests is branching, the flower clusters relatively far-spaced).
Present status at The Plants List, Persicaria auriculata S.K. Dixit et al. is a synonym of Polygonum praetermissum Hook. f. ...
And Persicaria chinensis (L.) H. Gross is separately treated ... The Plants List.
P. nepalensis I hope is a much smaller delicate plant with much smaller infl and distinctly winged petiole. This plant has the habit of P. chinensis. One should always look for some matured flowers in which perianth becomes larger fleshy and blue-black in fruit.
And yes the two P. auriculata (now treated as synonym as mentioned by ...) and P. chinensis are very distinct and not synonyms.
Agree with ... opinion. This looks like P. chinensis to me too.

Koenigia species in eFloraofindia (with details/ keys from published papers/ regional floras/ FRLHT/ FOI/ Biotik/ efloras/ books etc., where ever available on net)

Did not find any match.

Not Koenigia! Most probably Persicaria chinensis (L.) H.Gross. Only some flowers of the capitate head are visible.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful images of Persicaria chinensis

Iruppu Falls  Coorg
Date: November 12, 2019 ... Altitude range: about 850 - 1,000 m (2,800 - 3,300 ft) asl
Persicaria chinensis  (L.) Nakai

in this dense growth, difficult to see leaves that go with the flowers. nice flowers
Yes, the leaves are all mixed up, or rather hidden, overlapped by other plants'.
The flowers of this genus are similar among its species. As such I have no clear feature to tell. But the sight reminds of P. chinensis.
There is light green, seemingly amplexicaule leaf (or bract) - that helps me, may help others to validate OR comment otherwise.
