The seeds are used in griping colic pain in Kalahandi area of Orissa state whereas, the aerial parts possess antinociceptive, anti- inflammatory and diuretic properties. Roots are used as an astringent and cooling remedy. Decoction of leaves and shoots is used as a stimulating wash for ulcers, acting as a good healer of the scarred tissue.
