Date/time: 30-7-2015/ About 6-00 pm
Location: Devaramane, Mudigere, Chikmagalur, Karnataka about 1500 msl
Habitat: Wild, epiphytic.
Habit: Herb.
Identified by ... as Sirhookera sp.
The following two species are found in Karnataka:
1) Sirhookera lanceolata (Wight) Kuntze
2) Sirhookera latifolia (Wight) Kuntze
Beautiful. Sirhookera latifolia. Thanks for sharing...
This could be Sirhookera lanceolata if the plant is without pseudobulb
They can be distinguished by the presence of transverse plate at the base of the midlobe of the labellum.
I never knew they had bulbs.
The leaves are borader and obtuse apex in latifolia and narrower with acute apex in lanceolata.
I can see obtuse leaf apex in third pic.
