What plant is this? : Attachments (1). 8 posts by 5 authors.
I think this plant was posted some time ago. Request identification please? Seen in Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) Mumbai. It was a bit inaccessible so I couldn't take close-ups. Thanks.
Looks like Remusatia vivipara of Araceae.
to me there are two plants,
one with inflorescense is an Orchid and another with boad leaves is some colocasia sp.
please confirm if it is only one plant
Thanks ...  for the correction. Yes, you are right. I mistook the inflorescence for bulbils seen in Remusatia. Didn't observe carefully, sorry & thanks.
Usually Remusatia grows on trunk of old mango trees that is why it's Marathi name is Rukhalu (Rukh means tree and alu for colocasia )
Thanks ..., for the etymology.
Yes u r right, Remusatia generally grows as an epiphytic. However it is also found growing on rocks and on forest floors occasionally
There is an orchid in middle, Peristylus plantagineus
Oops! I have goofed up as I seem to have mixed up two species. Thank you, Gentlemen, which I take as a gentle and cautious reminder to take more care
when photographing flora that needs identification.

I think it is Peristylus goodyeroides
This also like the same.
Spur shorter than sepals; leaves clustered about the middle of stem; petals white; lip short, scarcely 3 lobed is P. plantagineus.
Yes this is Peristylus plantagineus. P. goodyeroides will have very prominent lobes on labellum.

Thanks for sharing.
This is actually not very normal to have such stunted growth of inflorescence.

Yes Peristylus plantagineus.
I really like the insect pics. I have seen so many insects on Peristylus but never seen them carrying or disturbing pollinia. I imagine what a mosquito was looking for!!!
Did you see them carrying pollinia?
Thanks a lot for sharing.

Thanks ... I couldnt figure out what the mosquito was looking for. These images might give some Idea. I could see a lot of such mosquitos visiting the flowers...!
