this is a Vanda coerulea.
... was quite close. It is a vanda or ascocenda hybrid with a lot of V. coerulea in it but definitely not a pure
V. coerulea. The plant looks like it is dehydrated. If it were me, I would have removed the spike to save
the plant as flowers need a lot of water to maintain themselves and will further dehydrate the plant.
This is surely an Ascocenda hybrid. May be Ascocenda 'Princess Mikassa' and then further....

Orchid - Vanda hybrid? - 250113 - RK:  Request ID. I have not come across twisted flower stalks [ as shown in
the 2nd pic ] earlier! Pics taken in Bangalore at a friend's on 11/01/13 in the evening.
This is a inter generic hybrid as far as I can understand. Between Ascocentrum and Vanda and its call Ascocenda.

Vanda Orchid-National Orchid Garden Singapore-MN181011:  Sending a photo of Vanda Orchid shot during our visit to the National Orchid Garden, Singapore.
Date : June 2007

This actually looks like Mokara, a trigeneric hybrid between the Ascocentrum, Vanda and Arachnis.
... may be able to confirm if I am right or wrong.
Looks like an Ascocenda to me as there is no true red colour in Vanda.
It could also be a Kagawara (Renanthera x Ascocentrum x Vanda) but I would need a closer look at the lip to confirm. As for mokara, usually they have thinner floral segments, but these days they are being bred
back into vandas to get a rounder shape so that possibility also exists.
Looks like an Ascocenda hybrid to me.

Cultivated Orchid seen at Flower Show in Mumbai last month (6.2.17).
This is also another Vanda hybrid under Ascocenda cross between Ascocentrum and Vanda. It should be now called Vadenda.... just kidding.... because all Ascocentrums are now called Vanda.

This should be a Ascocenda a hybrid of Ascocentrum and Vanda. Now that all Ascocentrums have been transferred to Vanda, I imagine how they call it, VADANDA,,,,, :) Just kidding...
