Attachments (4) Kindly examine and identify this Oberonia sp (Orchidaceae) Habit: Herb Habitat: Wild, epiphytic, Shola forest. Sighting: Mullaianagiri, Chikmagalur, Karnataka, about 1700 msl Date: 18-10-2016 This group is not easy to confirm. Flowers are densely placed on stalk, I cant see the bract but the margin of petal and sepal is entire, there is a gap between front lobules of mid-lobe of labellum, petals and sepals bent backwards, inflorescence has long leafy base... I would say this is Oberonia balakrishnanii.... Cant be josephii as flowers are dense; cant be wynadensis as flowers are dense and not in rosette; not hairy labellum so not chandrasekharanii..... But yes many of others i feel like they can be merged together!! Thanks a lot for sharing. References: Catalogue of Life The Plant List Ver.1.1 WCSP IPNI GBIF |
