TSPSEP2015-2: A terrestrial orchid for ID assistance. : 6 posts by 3 authors. Attachments (5)
Previously I had uploaded two sets of images of terrestrial/epiphytic orchids that were identified as Liparis wightana and Liparis barbata. I believe the present specimen is a different one. Kindly help in its identification.
Date/time: 28-8-2015/about 6-00 pm
Location Mullaianagiri, Chikmagalur, Karnataka about 1700 msl
Habit: Herb.
Habitat: Wild, terrestrial amidst grass and rocks
I would say this is Liparis wightiana.... There are lot of Liparis in south and many of them are tricky to identify as they were not seen so often. Thanks for sharing...

Very beautiful species indeed, marvellous captures..
This is another genus which is very tough.... It looks so much surely like Liparis wightiana but colour is so different. But obviously it has to be wightiana.
