I thought that also looks close to ovatum but not sure... As I look at the two plants, the barbalutum has pink shade and I have incorrectly labelled the one you are pointing to. That is a mistake. I will soon correct my notes at flickr photostream. The ovatum have greenish-yellow shade. Thank you very much ... for your keen eyes
You have clicked with very good angles. The colours have also come up perfectly! Was trying to find the bracts due to good angles. I think I can see them ?ovate
Thank you very much ... for the appreciation.
I am not sure of bract's shape (assuming the green tinged petal-like structures surrounding the central tube are bracts).

Dendrobium sp? This is Dendrobium ovatum. Please also check this link for my previous photographs: https://groups.google.com/group/indiantreepix/browse_thread/thread/9d... I have been looking at this plant since morning and trying to conclude if this is Dendrobium barbatulum or Dendrobium ovatum. Unfortunately I can reach to any conclusion!! I have been telling people to send me some flowers of both of the species since a long time, but havent got any, untill recently .. told me that she is sending some, which is yet to reach me. The link you have provided seems to me as a different flower than this one. This is green, the flower on the link is reddish. If you can compare the spur of your flower with ... then you will find this one to be much longer than the other. I will wait for ... specimen and study more to confirm. In the meantime, anyone who is willing to share pics of both (if they think they know both plants), they can send me the samples in 70% (atleast 5 flowers with bracts), in separate bottles or may be in same bottle with flwoers properly labelled. I would be grateful. I meant, "in the meantime, if anyone wants to share the samples" and not 'pics'!! i have already posted sample of both in 70% alcohol on speed post to you on saturday and i have also sent you message along with pictures of D barbatulum close ups and inflorescence.. you did not received message...how? Yes I read your message but not received your package yet. Dont worry, I will let you know soon. I thought of writing once I get your package and secondly, i reached Dehradun yesterday evening only and have many pending replies on my inbox. yes Dendrobium barbatulum To me this is more close to Dendrobium ovatum. Can you please justify your views. I just need to know. Unfortunately, now that I am in HK, I couldnt carry my plant samples here and couldnt check them either. I would be grateful for your help.
