ORCHIDACEAE Juss. Fortnight: Coelogyne ovalis vs. C. fimbriata live from HK - PKS-25 : Attachments (3). 5 posts by 4 authors.
Nice Comparative Set ...
...forgotten to mention the names.. which is which!
Sir bigger one is ovalis and smaller one is fimbriata !!
This means the orchid I have shared from Gori valley should correctly be Coelogyne ovalis rather than C. fimbriata as you have alredy opined.. thanks ... for this post..

Thanks to ... for a comparative picture of C.ovalis and C.fimbriata, depending on which I understand this as C.fimbriata. Picture is not very clear as it was taken at full zoom position.
Photographed near Kalimath, Rudraprayag district Uttarakhand. This Kalimath valley also have good number of Orchids.
Main difference between two is the bigger size of whole plant and flower of ovalis and presence of 4 lines in fimbriata which is only two in ovalis. Unfortunately I have nothing to compare here. If I close my eyes and imagine the foliar structure here then it matches to my imagination of ovalis :P.
So this could be ovalis, but no confirmation.
I think this is C. ovalis with some Pholidota articulata in 1 and 2 pic.

Coelogyne fimbriata from Gori Valley
This is tricky.... fimbriata is a smaller plant and ovalis is a bigger, but I am not sure if someone reported fimbriata officially from western Himalaya.
This does look like Coelogyne fimbriata
Should we take it as Coelogyne ovata in view of your mail in another thread ?
I think ... this should be Coelogyne ovata
Correct name is Coelogyne ovalis.

These were the days last year, when we captured this orchid from Gori valley, sharing the first one from the tour...
this was very densely covering the stem of many trees in the area....
was identified on the forum as Coelogyne fimbriata
Beautiful Shots ... This was the orchid for which I got slipped from the stone there in Gori valley.
Ok, now to me this looks like a Coelogyne ovalis not fimbriata.
This is very tricky.
Great upload
Such a detailed analysis of parts

It increases confusion to me. How to differentiate C.fimbriata and C.ovalis? Better to leave to expert like you when deciding the Id.
Both plants are flowering now so I will try to dissect them together.
Thanks for pointing out, but if I give you both plants in your hand then you will surely differentiate without flowers, trust me !! :)
Yes both flowers look similar at least on a gross observation.
Orchids are as such beautiful and they look even more beautiful when photographed by ... Thanks a lot ... for another beautiful upload....
