1 AK 080112 Id pz - Ground Orchid: Here I'm sending Photographs of Ground Orchid, found in Evergreen Forest.
My apologise for poor quality of Pics, having only these pics.
Plant Height - Upto 1 feet
Date - 25.12.2012
Location - Kolhapur,MH
Any Cheriostylis sp.?
Looks like a Zeuxine !!
Will check and confirm.
These may be dehised capsules of Epipogium roseum, but Kolhapur seems to be a unlikely place. Is this taken on road to Jamboti from Belgaum?
I am sorry to differ sir, you can see the dry leaves below on the stem. Epipogium fruits are more rounded but club shaped and white in color. Plant doesnt have hairs anywhere on the body....
Yes agreed ..., I can see the leaves in the second picture. That shifts the guess to Zeuxine gracilis, but frankly I have not seen this plant as yet. Need to know location in more detail.
Yes this could be Zeuxine gracilis!!
This orchid i found in one sacred grove near Gagan Bavda (Kolhapur) !! For me too its a new one !!
This is most probably Cheirostylis parvifolia Lindl.
Thanks for the info. I thought this is too tall and too many flowers for being Cheirostylis parviflora!!
But you are expert ! :) I will agree with you...
