Another first for me and I was quite excited to have found it—a bruised plant first and then a group of 5-6 plants on a slope difficult to reach for a good photograph. Flowers had a strong aroma and seedpod like pods were either empty or had a cottony filling. Please advise if I am wrong in identifying it. On 18 March, I found some flowers out, on the 20th some more and finally on the 23rd I photographed the full spikes open. Here are some photographs. It has been reported from Himachal in past but your collection seems to have been made after a long gap. Himachal is very much unexplored with respect to orchids. I remember in one week of my stay in Himachal we found 4 new records for the state. Unfortunately we couldnt publish them somehow. The Calanthe season is in full swing... as id'd by ..... Orchid... is it..??: This was one of the first flowers I had photographed in the beginning for its sheer beauty... I had just started photographing and not really with the idea of identification.... so you'll pardon me if I don't know much except... it was around the month of April again in Kalatope Sanctuary, Chamba, HP alt 2300 mts plant height approx 20 inches
