Thank you Dr. Santhosh Kumar, First I appreciate your discovery.
Secondly, I was not knowing about this Journal. Please enlighten me whether they will take charges for publishing a paper or they can consider waiver of publication fees from retired scientists. If yes, then I can think of submitting a paper to the journal.

Eugenia phyllyroides Trimen is endemic to Sri Lanka and the taxon is  not collected outside Sri Lanka till the time. The photographs given under this name is Eugenia Kalamii.
Change the name accordingly. Further my findings will surely inform you later.

E. mooniana (?) observed in Agumbe, Karnataka : 4 posts by 2 authors. Attachments (3)- 1 Mb each.
E. mooniana observed in Agumbe, Karnataka. Not certain of ID. Keyed through Gamble but not sure of the distinction with E. phillyraeoides. Some reports consider it synonyms and some consider E. phillyraeoides to be E. mooniana var gracilis

Syzygium phillyraeoides. But it should be placed in the genus Eugenia. I am not sure if the combination has already been changed to Eugenia phillyraeoidea

Our observations were made in 2014 by Prashant ji, 2017 by Yuvraj ji & March' 2018 (or earlier) by Sid ji. However, Eugenia kalamii was described in 2018.
This shows how efloraofindia may be playing a crucial role in publications, by bringing these to the notice of our experts, who may in turn do further research and publish new species.

Here is the efi page with details at Eugenia kalamii

As I said earlier, eFI is a treasure, open to all, freely. Anyone can utilize it for discovery of new species, new records or so.
