This interesting shrub of Ficus species was seen at Sawantwadi, Mah., in Sep.'10. The leaves are polymorphous, 3 many lobed. Something very new for me in my wildest guess I would have never expected it to be a Ficus Thanks ... for showing me a interesting plant.
Hooghly - might be Ficus heterophylla var. scabrella (Roxb.) King : Attachments (5). 2 posts by 2 authors. It is interesting to note that "Bengal Plants" as well as FBI & "Botany of Bihar & Orissa" describes three varieties of F. heterophylla L.f., and our esteemed experts threw some light over F. heterophylla L.f. in one of my earlier posts. This climbing? Ficus was shot from Chakrata Budher caves road in May 2012...Id please... Looks to be some Ficus It should be Ficus heterophylla L.f. {A straggling shrub, leaves and fruits rough and scabrid, leaves alternate, various - elliptic to lanceolate, irregularly dentate or lobed or entire, basal nerves 3; lateral nerves 8-16 pairs; Figs stalked, solitary, axillary}.

Is that a Ficus? i dont think its any kind of Ficus. It is a short plant that was growing in a meadow. This is Ficus heterophylla L. f., Suppl. Pl. 442. 178 “Bellam-dumar”, “Gaori-sheora”, “Ghoti-sheora” (all in Bengali). Commonly found in the district of Hoogly, Howrah, Jalpaiguri, Murshidabad and 24 – parganas. Apart from the Virginia Creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia), Himalayan Woodbine (Parthenocissus semicordata), Himalayan Ivy (Hedera nepalensis), and Ivy Fig (Ficus hederacea) there is this creeper which is quite common. In the large bundle consisting mostly of Grey Oak leaves, he also had some lengths of this creeper. Some had fig like fruits on them. Here are some close ups. I am almost certain that this is Ficus hederacea or Ivy Fig. Please advise. This appears to be Ficus tinctoria subsp. gibbosa (Blume) Corner [Moraceae]. Ficus tinctoria ssp gibbosa to me too, This should be Ficus heterophylla L.f. well becoming interesting day by day. i thought it may be ficus assamica (with two examples we have on hand). then both ... both vote for Ficus tinctoria ssp gibbosa. and now ... (dont know his email) says it could be Ficus heterophylla. now we need a key I will also go with ... for id (also an expert on this genus) as images and details at Ficus heterophylla compared to those at Ficus assamica or Ficus tinctoria subsp. gibbosa For F. tinctoria subsp. gibbosa and F. assamica morphological characters for leaves as well as receptacles are much different to Ficus species in this post.
