Locally called as Taryambal, Traimblu in H P and the ripe fruits are edible. It is a store house of feed for birds. Just a small correction from my side. The name given to the river was 'Mandar' as heard by me. It is probably the Mandal River.

I tried find out the variety name, but did n't succeed; some horticulture related experts may know the exact variety. In Ficus carica several varieties are available with so much variations in the leaf shape, fruit shape, size and colour. There are lot of queries about Ficus carica L., Ficus carica is occur only in cultivation in India. It's allied to Ficus palmata subsp. virgata , it is wildly occur in India. My recently published paper in Journal of Threatened Taxa on 26 Aug 2014 title is 'Taxonomy, distribution and diversity of Ficus palmata Forssk. subsp. virgata (Roxb.) Browicz (Moraceae) in India' is also available online. After reading this paper people can easily understand the variation in leaves, and their other related queries. The photographs were identified and confirmed as Ficus auriculata Lour. (=Ficus macrophylla Roxb.) _ Moraceae. ... As far as I know, F oligodon is tall tree with wide crown and figs have longitudinal ridges and borne in cluster. So I have attached few pics from my stock. Hope this could be F oligodon. Moreover, the shape of leaves is different in both the species, in F oligodon it is obovate but here it is elliptic. Is this Wild Fig ? Which Ficus sp. is this ? We saw it in Kakoijana near Manas National Park,Guwahati. Date- 03.03.2014 Habitat -Wild Ficus species. The photographs send by you is identified as Ficus auriculata Lour (=F. macrophylla Roxb.) which is wild in Visakhapatnam hills of South India and common in North East India. It is nowadays cultivating in gardens, houses for his beautiful foliage and edible figs.
- I do see some orchids there, most probably more than one taxa.
