Need your help to ID a shrub : 9 posts by 4 authors. Attachments (3)- around 1 mb each. the shrub is about 5 ft tall. Photographed in Mawsynram, Meghalaya. September 2018. only fruiting seen. May be a Pterospermum sp i was thinking in the same vein, but i dont see any hairs or fuzz on the leaves. may be its just the way pictures were taken. though there is different colored epidermis on either side of the leaf blade. though there is fuzz on the fruit/capsule. that i surmised to be five or sic segmented, cant tell. So, ... Sure ... The fruit felt dry and hard, pentamerous. The remnants of the flower were still hanging on. Leaves glabrous above, greyish brown below.. Did not cut through the fruit...so do not know how it was inside.. The measurements are not here; the capsule is not angled it is not rusty tomentose; the leaf also not matches with P.xylocarpum; the bracts, bracteoles, stipules also have to be considered. A multipronged approach is needed for identification. Hence I can't agree with your id; I strongly believe it is not Pterospermum xylocarpum Thanks, ... I take it as stated by you.
