this flower - Salvia leucantha 'Midnight'. I found the same plant ( at least I seem so) in Uttaranchal, Mayabati in, October 2010, where I was told the name as Hamiltonia - a garden flower. As the pic was no clear - I did not send it for identification- but now the posting of ... reminds me of that flower. I am posting the pic. please confirm my id. 
Hamiltonia is a shrub from family Rubiaceae, a much different plant

Salvia leucantha, an ornamental shrub.
Another new plant for me, not recorded for NW Himalaya. Certainly did not remind me of any known Himalayan species of Salvia!
Please note that Salvia leucantha is an alien species in this part of the world being a native of Mexico. Reported to be cultivated in India and the Himalaya. All over the world we have species which have escaped from cultivation and naturalised.  'Enumeration of the Flowering Plants of Nepal' give an altitudinal range of 1300-1700m.
'Flora of Bhutan' have a record of it being cultivated at Kurseong.
