Much branched undershrubs, with long and stout root stock; branches terete, rigid, hispid with erect-appressed hairs and few bristle-like spreading hairs. Leaves sessile or subsessile, opposite, 1-3 x 0.15-0.3 cm, linear, obtuse, entire and revolute-margined, ciliate with bristle-like hairs, white tomentose beneath, coriaceous. Flower-whorls many-flowered, terminating 8-25 cm long, scapiform, tomentose branches, sometimes scape further extends ending in an another whorl of flowers, each whorl subtended by a pair of leaves. Bracts upto 3 mm long, about half as long as calyx, linear, setaceous, villous. Calyx-tube 6-7 mm long, campanulate, villous with golden yellow hairs; mouth truncate; villi as long as teeth; teeth ca 1 mm long, erect, spinulose. Corolla-tube included or ca 1 mm exserted from the calyx; upper lip densely bearded with white hairs, shorter than lower. Nutlets ca 3 mm long, oblong, narrowed towards base, smooth, brownish black.
