Nature has the answer for this: just apply the oil extracted from the American mint to protect yourself from notorious mosquitoes, says a paper published in the Journal of the American Mosquito control association. Brimming with nectar, the flowers of the American mint are a choice favourite of several butterflies for their meal. Knowing that butterflies and other insects visit these flowers, predators like spiders and mantids stay near the flowers to hunt their prey. This is an annual plant that grows with the onset of monsoon throughout the world. In India it is common in forest paths and country sides. D’nt forget to inhale the aroma of the Bush mint during your forest walk next time.
