we call it Kriechender G nsel in german, The sci. name I found is: Ajuga reptans. I don't have any fotos at present. after april/ may I can send fotos from my garden. It has some medicinal uses. Native to europe, don't know about Africa. - Yes, I think you are correct Ajuga reptans this is a decorative herb and spreads everywhere in the garden. It is also called carpenter's herb, and has other medicinal values.
