Fortunately I have access to the document- 'Revision of the family Gentianaceae of North West Himalaya' by S.Garg (1982) based on which she later published "Gentianaceae of North West Himalaya: A Revision" (Garg 1988). The document says-
After seeing plenty of dried as well as fresh specimens, only two species have been ascertained in India which also occur in North West Himalayan region.
Key to species-
Leafy, fastigiate herbs. Pedicels 2-4 mm long....................................C.pulchellum
Simple, lax herbs. Pedicels 0.9-2.5 cm long .....................................C. meyeri

Is it Canscora spp.
Today at Alibag, Maharashtra
- This could be Centaurium centauroides (= Erythraea roxburghii). FoI includes these names (flowers are pink here) as synonyms to C. meyeri (= E.meyeri), whose flowers are said to be 'invariably white' (Ref. FBI).
- Yes the flowers seem clearly pedicellate. This should be Centaurium centauroides (= Erythraea roxburghii)  as suggested by ..
Location of Halenia perrottetii, Hoppea dichotoma and Centaurium centaurioides: Can any one help me to locate Halenia perrottetii, Hoppea dichotoma and Centaurium centaurioides in South India???
I have seen Hoppea on wet rock faces growing as a tiny herb within small vegetation clumps along with Utricularia and other tiny sedges.
Centaurium is more of a marshy habitat plant, rice fields left unattended after harvest should be a good place to look for this plant.
For Halenia you will have to go search among grass slopes on the margins of the shola forests in Niligiri hill ranges.

This herb is known as ઝીણકું કરિયાતું [Jhinku Kariyatu] in Gujarati.
In Marathi, the Warli community of Vikramgad taluka refers to this plant as लंटक.
Thank you very much ... this is a super help. Will incorporate the Gujarati name and the Marathi variant into my notes soon.

QUERY :: Erythraea roxburghii // Centaurium meyeri : 3 posts by 2 authors.
Please help me know about species of Centaurium distributed in northern Western Ghats.
Intent of query is to know whether Erythraea roxburghii G.Don and Centaurium meyeri (Bunge) Druce are synonymous OR are distinct.
At The Plants List their entries are found separate as Centaurium centaurioides (Roxb.) S.R.Rao & Hemadri AND Centaurium pulchellum (Sw.) Druce RESPECTIVELY ... each of the entries are at low confidence level.
If there is only one species distributed in northern Western Ghats - it would then be
Erythraea roxburghii G.Don as described in Cooke's Flora of the Presidency of Bombay ... synonym of Centaurium centaurioides (Roxb.) S.R.Rao & Hemadri.
Please validate.

Centaurium mairei from Bangalore, KA.

Thanks ... for another niceupload.
I think you mean to say it as Centaurium meyeri (efi page). Pl. confirm.
Both Tropicos and TPL use the spelling: Centaurium mairei Zeltner. An another record of Tropicos says C. pulchellum var. meyeri is the accepted name.
But, IPNI and Fl. Pakistan use C. meyeri (Bunge) Druce (note the difference in author names, too). According to Fl.Pak., this name is now a synonym of
Centaurium pulchellum var. meyeri (Bunge) Omer
So, I think we should use the latest combination:
Centaurium pulchellum var. meyeri (Bunge) Omer
