Desmodium triquetrum
Hedysarum triquetrum
'Kakganga'
Mulshi October 2011.
Main character. Winged petiole.(IMG1,8 )
Undershrubs. Branches triquetrous[3-edged] grooved(Seen to some extent in IMG 1)
Leaflets 4-18 x 2-9 cm ovate-oblong. Flowers reddish or purplish, in axillary and terminal racemes.
Pods linear oblong, flat, beaked, grey-pubescent, 4-7 jointed.

The images are from 2 different plants. If they appear to be from different species please let me know. I have noted the colour difference but I think both plants are from same species.
I think there is a mix up.
Pictures Desmodium triquetrum1s.jpg, Desmodium triquetrum2s.jpg, Desmodium triquetrum9.jpg, Desmodium triquetrum10.jpg are of
Desmodium triquetrum and others,
I think other pictures might belong to D. laxiflorum because the inflorescence stalk and pedicel are hairy in the later sets of pictures where as though the inflorescence stalk is slightly hairy but pedicels are not.
Further the length of the pedicel varies then the standard petals in the second sets are whitish.
Consider the bract as well.
If you have picture/s of the leaves of the later sets, please check whether the leaves have winged petiole.
I had doubt in my mind. Two plants present side by side. I collected specimens for photographs from one due to good raceme. I saw clear winged petiole on other which I didn't bother to observe on other.
Any way Flowers with more white are D.laxiflorum it seems

Need help to ID this plant found it near the rice fields, flowering, in Ratnagiri on 29th August,13.
Images in your email are mixed up with different plants. The herb with winged petiole is Tadehagi triquetrum. I too had posted this plant sometime back : efi thread
Four images after Tadehagi (rightly IDd) are of the climber Cissus elongata of Vitaceae.
I am so sorry for the mix up in pictures.......but thank you for identifying the pictures

May be some other genera other than Desmodium.
Tadehagi triquetrum (L.) H.Ohashi (=Desmodium triquetrum (L.) DC.)

Name of the species: Desmodium triquetrum subsp. pseudotriquetrum
Family: Papilionaceae
Place of collection: Ranpur, Nayagarh, Orissa
Habit: Herb
Habitat: Wild, near perennial streams and boundary of moist deciduous Sal forests
Altitude: 200 to 600 m above msl
I could observe the winged petiole characteristic of Desmodium triquetrum but was wondering different nature of the leaves .....Then realised you have written it as ssp. pseudotriquetrum. That may be the difference. Thanks for sharing.
By the way for those who don't know Triquetrous: Referring to 3 cornered branches

The mentioned species does not have any distribution in India as per Catalogue of Life;
It is Tadehagi triquetrum only as per keys in Flora of China.
