Cassia for ID : Sri Lanka : 100912 : AK-2: Kindly id this Cassia species from Sri Lanka. Picture taken on 15/11/2010. A medium size tree. It may be Cassia spectabilis. yeah looks very much like Cassia spectabilis. efloraindia: Fabaceae-Caesalpinioideae (Caesalpiniaceae) week: Sharing the images of Senna siamea from Coimbatore. Not Senna siamea for sure. The fruits are quite different and even the habit photo, foliage etc. of the plant looks quite different. Check for other species of Senna. My key uploaded on the website leads me to Senna spectabilis, the only species without glands (I can't detect any) and cylindrical pods.

What is the date when this picture was taken? This tree has finished its flowering long time back in Bangalore (typically after the rain till around Nov) It is from my old collection taken during April 2010, Thirumala hill, forest area near Aakasganga, it is a cultivated tree only.
