Looking at the flowers I have a feeling that all your photographs except first one belong to A. torta The first photograph clearly looks like belonging to A. concinna (Willd.) DC. (syn: A. sinuata (Lour.) Merrill. Could you kindly confirm whether all these photographs belong to the same individual, or taken fro different individuals at different times. The numbering seems to support these being taken at different times. Yes ... Only the first one does not belong to A. torta (earnest thanks to ... for pointing my mistaken ID) ... sighted on Mar 5, 2011 ... somewhere along Kumbharli Ghat. All the rest are sighted on Feb 19, 2011 ... at Matheran, Maharashtra, and for sure A. torta Did not dare to elaborate it to avoid adding to confusion.

Habitat: Dense scrub / roadside. Location: Coimbatore Dist., TN (seen in many such habitats). Date: 01 Nov 2014. Alt.: 650 M ASL the leaflets are minute (like that of Albizia amara) Acacia- species in eFIoraofindia (with details/ keys from published papers/ regional floras/ FRLHT/ FOI/ efloras/ books etc., where ever available) This is most probably Albizia amara (Krishna Siris). There are variants. Therefore, please also check for the subspecies. I think it is Acacia caesia (L.) Willd.(=Acacia intsia Willd. var. caesia (L.) Baker ) It cannot be Acacia caesia. The arrangement of leaves flowering type etc. are quite different. Please see the links http://indiabiodiversity.org/species/show/263281 To me it looks like Acacia torta. You have to search in Acacia, to be more precise, Senegalia rather than Albizia. Flowers or fruits are required for confirmation. Thanks, Tapas ji, fro genus id. Appears close to images of Senegalia torta (Roxb.) Maslin, Seigler & Ebinger as per comparative images of Senegalia species in efi. Yes .., The leaves are identical.
