Legume with two leaflets 19032014GS2 for ID from Chakrata-GSMAR5 : Attachments (3 + 5). 7 posts by 3 authors.
This leguminous climber with two leaflets was photographed from Chakrata in September, 2011.
Kindly help in ID.
I think this is having three leaflets, I am enclosing few of mine shots for supplementing your post, I am still to get id..
Yes ... there are some leaves with three leaflets. Let us hope to get id.
Both of these specimens looks like Rhynchosia himalensis Baker. But leaves are trifoliate in this species.
I think you got it right. The fruit, very long lowest calyx lobe (almost equalling keel) agrees perfectly, flower size and colour (yellow with purple striations) all agree with Rhynchosia himalensis. Leaflets is not a big issue as we could locate many leaves with 3 leaflets. The only worry is lesser number of flowers.
Thanks for identification ..., I have discovered few more pics of the same plant, from a different location, from VOF Trek...
