Pterocarpus macrocarpus (Burma Padauk) is a species of Pterocarpus native to southeastern Asia in northeastern India, Burma, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam.
It is a medium-sized tree growing to 10-30 m (rarely to 39 m) tall, with a trunk up to 1.7 m diameter; it is dry season-deciduous.
The bark is flaky, grey-brown; if cut, it secretes a red gum.
The leaves are 20 to 35 cm long, pinnate, with 9-11 leaflets.
The flowers are yellow, produced in racemes 5-9 cm long.
The fruit is a pod surrounded by a round wing 4.5-7 cm diameter, containing two or three seeds.
The wood is durable and resistant to termites; it is important, used for furniture, construction timber, cart wheels, tool handles, and posts[3]; though not a true rosewood it is sometimes traded as such

Giant Tree in Kokan forest : 6 posts by 3 authors. Attachments (2)
I want to share photograph of a unusual big tree I saw in my recent trip in kokan (costal Maharashtra)
I was there to visit large Bamboo Nursery of my friend. He has stock of excellent Bamboo plants having full life cycle (created from Seeds)
At the time of my visit tree has shaded all leaves, I have seen small pinkish flowers all over but not sure they were from this tree.
I was surprised to see so many different plants mother nature has created, I enjoyed different type of ACAI berry (Carissa carandas, karwande in Marathi ) and other summer fruits.
I was deeply saddened by seeing illegal tree cutting. Law is not going to help. People must become sensitive and respectful to nature.

I think it may be Pterocarpus dalbergioides, which I saw recently in Andamans, as per link below:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Andaman_padauk_09.JPG
I further checked up.
It may not be Pterocarpus dalbergioides as it is not distributed in Maharashtra as per ILDIS.
It may be Pterocarpus indicus (Introduced) as it is found in Maharashtra as per the images at
http://luirig.altervista.org/cpm/albums/bot-taubert/Pterocarpus-indicus-227.jpg

Seems to be correct observation. Likely to be P. indicus.
I am knowing P. dalbergioides - very common tall trees in the evergreen forests of the Andamans and much valued for the reddish, light timber used for preparing furniture. Felling of the Padauk tree is now banned.

Photograph not clear. Send the close ups of flowers and vegetative parts.
Flower images are not clear but looks like Pterocarpus indicus Willd. !
