Which Fabaceae ??

A Flemingia sp. (Fabaceae).

Inflated pod indicates it as Crotalaria

Tends to match more with F. macrophylla since sepals and seed pod cover are hairy compared to F. semialata as well as leaves seems to be very rough in this case.
On the other hand F. semialata is not listed in Nepal.
I guess it is not matching with any Crotalaria.
Pl. also check keys and images at

Yes ... I already did that and guessed so but could not confirm 100% by myself. May be someone could ID with the help of keys?

I will like to go with Flemingia semialata for the time being.

You seem to be correct … but I could not find it its listing in the ACFPoN and
latest book from DPR.  All aspects looks closer to Flemingia macrophylla (Willd.) Kuntze ex Merr.
but this plant is very small compared to it and lot of hairs on buds and leaf also thick  and deep veins.
I am still confused between these two.
I further considered your plant.
Checklist of Nepal gives Flemingia semialata Roxb. as a syn. of Flemingia macrophylla as did Catalogue of Life.
However, Flora of Pakistan  GRIN  Tropicos  The Plant List Ver. 1.1  do not think so, as also Floras/ Books of South India.
I finally got online keys in the book at Flora of peninsular India, as per which F. semialata calyx has to be eglandular, which is not the case in your post.
So I take it as F. macrophylla.
I think confusion is arising as there are two different Flemingia semialata as per details below from listings in IPNI:
Flemingia semialata Wall., Numer. List [Wallich] n. 5746 G, nom. inval.
Flora of Pakistan talks about Flemingia semialata Roxb. ex Aiton, Hort. Kew. ed. 2(4): 349. 1812. Parker, For. Fl. Punj. 3rd, ed. 165. 1956, which is an accepted name.
Checklist of Nepal talks about Flemingia semialata Roxb., Pl. Corom. 3: t. 249 (1815), which is stated to be a syn. of Flemingia macrophylla (Willd.) Merr., ; Philip. J. Sci. 5: 130 (1910).

Flemingia congesta Roxb.
new name is Flemingia microphylla
Photograph taken at Gaibi Ghat near Radhanagari
Its an a new Reported to the Kolhapur District.

Does not appear to match either with Flemingia semialata or Flemingia macrophylla

Or may be Flemingia semialata as per images and details herein.

Any id hints for this tri-foliate herb, recorded from Gori Valley area will be appreciated..!!
Could it be some species of Flemingia ?

Please find the attachment
GUESSING it as : "Flemingia nana Roxb."
Considerable name changes and merging has occurred leaving it now as:
Flemingia macrophylla (Willd.) O. Ktze. ex Merr.
Crotalaria macrophylla Willd.
Flemingia congesta Roxb. ex Ait. f.
F. nana Roxb.
F. congesta var. latifolia (Bth.)  Baker
F. congesta var. nana (Roxb.) Baker
Moghania nana (Roxb.) Mukerjee
M. macrophylla (Willd.) O. Ktze.
The Flora of Bombay by T. Cooke (which separates the species) mentions calyx covered with ferruginous glands and : Pods turgid with greenish-grey tomentum and covered with viscid reddish glands.
Melghat has this plant and it normally has only a few leaves (3-foliolate) or a short woody stem above ground.
BUT please check the recent literature and recent key for Fabaceae.

ID for plant 290709 JameenPalash : Attachments (3). 7 posts by 3 authors.
Please Identify this plant which i collected from Melghat in January this year.
the plant is locally called Jameen PALASH.
the plant is stemless with 3-5  leaves which are 3-foliate (Just like Butea sps). the petioles being very long and channelled. the inflorescence arises very closely to ground (sometime even when the plant is leafless). flowers are arranged in dense erect raceme. the fruits are inflated with only a single seed. the outer surface of fruit has powdery orange-coloured grains which stick to the finger when touched.
i hope this information would be sufficient for the identification
This may be Spatholobus parviflorus...?
thanx for the prompt reply.
i searched it with Spatholobus parviflorus but my plant does not match with the above plant as the fruit in my case are only 1 cm long and inflated where as Spatholobus parviflorus shows butes-like fruits. please see the attachment.
Well... then please check with genus-Glycine
..., first glimpse of inflorescence in the thumbnail reminded me of Mucuna species but the flowers seem different, they resemble Crotalaria verrucosa; again the fruits reminds me of Crotalaria ...
but these are vague thoughts ... I too am keen on knowing the ID.
This a species of Flemingia. It may be F. nana. Please check it, Generally found in teak forests of central india. You may check the flora of Melghat(1968) by R.I.Patel and another Flora of melghat tiger Reserve (1988) by Dhore, M.A and P.A.Joshi.
i checked the plant in Cooke's Flora and yes it is Flemingia nana.
the winged petiole and glandular calyx confirms it. also the turgid pods with viscid reddish glands identifies it.
Thank you ... for the interaction.
