some views: Apr 23, 2011 ... Anmod Ghat, Goa
Jul 12, 2008 ... Kharghar Hills, Navi Mumbai
The pictures are amazing. i personally feel that you must post pictures of a bit more in size.
these are just too small to look in to leaves and other characters... will be great if higher size pics are allowed and posted...not very heavy ones but yes ones that can be viewed full screen atleast

Please note my mistake in this post; the second set of views belonging to ... Jul 12, 2008 ... Kharghar Hills, Navi Mumbai ... is not of Derris heyneana, but Millettia pinnata (syn. Pongamia pinnata).

Plant for ID SMP1 02/05/2012: Observed this huge climber hanging from big trees profusely flowering .
Location Amboli to Sawantwadi Ghat.
Is it some Derris species?
I can see trifoliate leaves. Leaflets 8-10 cm. Flowers 2 cm approx.in big clusters.
I think this Climber is "Derris heyneana".
(Ref: Shrikant Ingalhalikar ji's Book "FFOS").
Two points, if it is D heyneana:
a) It is endemic and rare climber.
b) As per ... email, the trifoliate leaves are visible in the pic; is that the feature of D heyneana?
Yes it looks like D. heyneana Benth. from the pic and description.
however, the leaflets could be 5 or even 7 in this particular species. in the second pic the leaflets are 3 and more, which points out towards D. heyneana

This is the Forest Beanstalk [Derris scandens].

Yes commonly know as the "Jewel Vine"
It is Derris but i doubt about species
... possibly Derris heyneana OR D. canarensis ... not sure, could be another species.
why not Derris scandens????
Does this have thorns?
To me it appears closer to images at Derris heyneana (Wight & Arn.) Benth.
