Flora of Chakrata 2012: Leguminous tree for Id: This Fabaceae tree was shot from near Chakrata in May 2012... medium sized tree with greyish bark, leaves imparipinnate, flowers very small, lilac... fruits flat pods.. looks like a Dalbergia sp...exact identification is requested...
Can it be Dalbergia sericea ?
Thanks ... for the lead, the flowers match with D. sericea but the leaflets disagree....
In my opinion, it is Dalbergia sericea. Mostly found in middle altitudes (1000 to 1800m) on drier, steep, rocky slopes and frequently found on road side steep slopes in middle Himalayas. However, it is rather uncommon except in certain stretches as you climb.

This tree was shot from Chakrata, I remember posting this earlier, an input recieved was D. sericea...
Please refer to this
Confirmed. Dalbergia sericea, This was very recently newly recorded from Peninsular India also
