Leaves alternate; simple, ovate-lanceolate, 4-6 × 2-4cm, base obtuse, margin entire, apex acute, mucronate; scabrid above, hirsute beneath. Flowers 1-1.5cm across, yellow in terminal or leaf-opposed few-flowered racemes. Calyx deeply 5, lobed, hirsute outer. Corolla papillionoid; standard orbicular with purple blotches on the back; wings oblong, keel shorter than wings. Stamens 10, monadelphous. Ovary stipate, hirsute; style geniculate, stigma minute. Pod oblong, 1.5-2 cm long, deflexed, hirsute, 8-10 seeded.
