The flowers are creamy yellow in 4 to 7 cms. long terminals and racemes. The pods are linear oblong, woody slightly curved, dark brown or brownish black, constriction between all or few seeds. The seeds are oblong compressed, smooth, glabrous and brown. The flowering season is January to June. ... tender shoots and flowers (as vegetable) ... A good fodder for the black bucks/ deers. The leaves of this plant are offered in place of gold as a symbol during Dasara festival.

but from the jizz, the tree does look like Apta [Bauhinia racemosa]. Forgot to mention - a white flower is seen at the top of the third photograph and, if you use your imagination, also at a few places in the second photograph.
Bauhinia racemosa flowering: Thought this might be interesting. Photographed at my farm last Sunday. Large-leaved Mistletoe [Dendropthoe falcata] and a Weaver ants [Oecophylla smaragdina] nest on one of my flowering Apta trees.
