Leaves 2.5-7.5 x 1-1.5 cm, oblong-elliptic, apex acute, mucronate, base cordate, erect pilose below; petiole to 1 cm, stipules 2, 1.1 cm, elliptic, acuminate, membranous. Racemes axillary and terminal, 6-7 cm, congested, peduncles 3 mm; bracts 7 x 4 mm, ovate; calyx deeply 4-lobed, upper 2 cleft, tube 2 mm, lobes 4.5 and 5.5 mm; standard petal 4.5 x 2.5 mm, wing 4 x 0.5 mm, keels 4 mm; staminal sheath 4 mm. Pod usually 1-3 jointed, to 6 mm, transversally rugose, apex with triangular cap; fruiting calyx 1.1 x 0.2 cm. This is one of the form of Alysicarpus sanjappae, it is procumbent, but shows erect habit due to support of grasses. Identify by height 30 cm, pods slightly exerted from calyx, inflorescence dense, pods transversely wrinkled.
