Please help me to identify this tree found in rain forests of Vaalparai in Western Ghats.
I could locate proper flowers of this. and the winged fruits measures up to 4cm across. Leaves about 15cm longer.
Could this be any Dipterocarp?
Place: vaalparai, TN

Alt.: 950 m asl
Habitat: roadside near rain forest
It is a Diospyros species.
The fruits are c.3cm across. I have attached the pictures of fruits here.
Dimorphocalyx beddomei
Yes, after seeing the fruits I realized it is not Diospyros. ... should be right...
Many thanks for confirming this species. But isn't Dimorphocalyx beddomei an endemic to Agasthiyarmalai (Tirunelveli dist.)?
