I found it in Valley of Flowers on way to Hemkunt Sahib at around 4000m asl in beginning of the month of July.
I would be better if you check webmail directly. One the mail is safe, and not danger of loosing mails on your desktop if computer has some problem. I have resorted to webmails after nearly 15 years of using desktop downloads with Outlook express.
Web gmail is quite convenient, as also mails stay in one thread.

Cassiope fastigiata (Wall.) D. Don, Edinburgh New Philos. J. 17: 158. 1834.

A much-branched tufted shrublet usually less than 20 cm tall with closely packed thick small leaves arranged in four rows; flowers axillary, pendent, white on up to 7 mm long pedicels; calyx with brown to purple oblong-ovate, 4-5 mm long lobes; corolla white, bell-shaped, 5-9 mm long with 2-4 mm long outcurved lobes; capsule globose, 2-3 mm in diam.
Beautiful shots of Himalayan Heather.
Family : Ericaceae
Happy to see an exclusive alpine plant. With it comes the refreshing air of high altitudes. Makes large thickets in many alpine zones. Flower buds for next growing season will be formed one year earlier in this plant.
Cassiope fastigiata (Wallich) D. Don is a small creeping shrub in alpine zones of Uttarakhand.
Lovely find from Alpine zone, thanks for showing ...
