Pl. find the attached file contain photo for id. confirmation. The photo has been send to me by ..., Chennai for id. request.
Date: 09.04.2013
Location: Saidapet, Chennai (PWD Office)
Habitat: garden
Habit: Tree
Looking at the un-opened flower buds and the leaves the plant has a resemblance to Lecithidaceae members (Careya sps.?)

Could be even a Clusiaceae member as the leaves have a resemblance to Canophyllum. Try to get a photograph of the fully opened flower
This looks like a species of Diospyros to me.
