Yes, I strongly feel so.
Dioscorea alata ... opposite-leaved dioscorea.
Am sure you meant Dioscorea oppositifolia [the opposite-leaved Dioscorea] my photographs of which are available at this link : efi thread
Dioscorea alata is an exotic .... efi thread

Oh yes ... did not had sufficient time to cross-check on this aspect. Only point I was aware that there is perhaps only one native Dioscorea which is opposite-leaved. I am yet to meet this Dioscorea. Many many thanks for the correcting my thoughts.

Dioscorea tomentosa, I suppose.
Are all Dioscorea trinerved?
Leaves in this are simple sir while Dioscorea tomentosa has 3-5 leaflets. Could this plant have simple leaves in younger parts?
Another Dioscorea sp. perhaps?

Dioscorea oppositifolia

I too agree with …
in several internet sites the leaves shown as ID are different...
https://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/showimage/263357/ with image :
though indian remote sensing site shows : leaves and fruits are similar to this case
MY conclusion: internet is showing confusing characteristics. we need a good reliable source of what is D. oppositifolia. I need to see it
Thanks … I am confused about the species. Some of the google images of D.oppositifolia are showing elongated and pointed leaves while this climber is showing smaller and bit roundish leaves. I checked … image of this sp. from flowersofindia.net.
Is it some other species of Dioscorea ?
I am confused too. that's why I asked for authenticated description or pictures. I wonder if we have any botanist among our members who may be an expert on Dioscorea, who can teach us// tell us
I think id of Dioscorea oppositifolia L. should be OK as per images herein and as per comparative images at Dioscorea

Fruit shown leaves no room for misidentification ....... Dioscorea oppositifolia indeed !
