Plant to ID : 24112012 : RV 3: I have found this grass growing in a small patch in the water logging area of my wadi, about 1 an 1/2 feet tall. Picture was taken on 3rd Oct,12, please help to Id it.
... could it be Rhynchospora wightiana (family: Cyperaceae) ?
I do not know how to identify a Rhynchospora. Found two species reported from India, there may be more -

Which cyperaceae member is this?    

It is Rhynchospora of Cyperaceae; probably R.wightiana for no detailed description (It is upto 30 cm tall, spikelets in brown heads) it is found in moist areas, rice fields etc.,
