Please help me in identifying the Cyperaceae sedge. Is a species of Fimbristylis?
Height: about 15 cm
Date: 07 March 2014
Place: Ariyalur dist., TN
Altitude: c. 52 m asl
Habitat: wetland, marsh
At first look it looks like Xyris indica.
it doesn't look like a Cyperaceae member
I think it is Fimbristylis tetragonoloba
Are you talking of Fimbristylis tetragona R.Br. as I could not find any match of Fimbristylis tetragonoloba on google search & not even in The Plant List.
Fimbristylis tetragona R. Br., not F. tetragonoloba
here is the attachmentt of Fimbristylis tetragona R. Br.,  Nut and spikelets
