- I think this may not C. rotundus but species of Cyperus
- I think Cyperus rotundus is correct.

One of the nut grass sps.
Whatever the  photographs came to me look like Cyperus rotundus L. and it's ssp. would be tuberosus. It is a sedge comes under the family Cyperaceae. But i can confirm it only when the specimen would come to me for dissection.
Look like Cyperus exaltatus,, pls match with Herbarium specimen..
Cyperus rotundus is 'nut grass' as I sent my comments earlier

There is a mixing up, a Cyperus species is mixed up with what I could get is a Mazus sp, pic not much clarifying though.

Cyperus scariosus: Is anyone aware about Cyperus scariosus? The image in the website as umbrella grass, seems to be wrong. Any taxonomist has given the drawing with description? Some thing doubtful and could not get clear picture.

Try this link from the Flowers of India website hope it will provide you with better images.

Cyperus sp.
Can this be cyperus difformis?
You seem to have two plants
First photograph is a grass, probably Ergagrostis or Briza, difficult from distant shot.
Second photograph at the base of grass is Cyperus perhaps C. iria, but again vague from distance.
